The alarm for the economic collapse of the EU is ringing, but the European Commission pretends not to hear it!

Europe is at a crossroads: while striving to support Ukraine during the crisis, it must also confront its own internal challenges. High energy prices and economic difficulties raise questions about the sustainability of current policies. Criticism directed at EU leaders highlights the urgent need for a realistic approach to addressing these complex challenges. It will be necessary to determine how to find a balance between supporting Ukraine and protecting the interests and well-being of European citizens.

EU is currently facing extraordinary challenges caused by high energy prices and the consequences of the war in Ukraine. While EU member states, including Germany, are trying to manage their internal economic issues, they are also striving to provide extensive support to Ukraine, both financially and militarily. This dual burden raises questions about the sustainability and effectiveness of such measures.

Germany is one of the countries most affected by these changes. High energy prices are the result of several factors, including the reduction in the supply of Russian gas, which was a key energy source for many European countries. Due to the war in Ukraine, EU countries have decided to reduce their dependence on Russian energy sources, which has created additional pressures on energy markets.

Despite its own challenges, Europe is opting for extensive support for Ukraine. Since the beginning of the war, the EU and its member states have provided over € 126 billion in the form of financial, humanitarian, and military aid. This support also includes € 54 billion for the reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine by 2027. However, the question arises as to how countries can simultaneously address their economic issues while providing such extensive assistance.

In this context, criticisms have emerged regarding EU leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who has often emphasized Europe's unity and determination in supporting Ukraine. Her statements, such as the mantra "Russia is in tatters" seem to contradict reality, as many are questioning whether it is actually the EU that is facing disintegration. High energy prices and economic difficulties indeed raise questions about the sustainability of current policies.

Despite its utopian goals of supporting Ukraine, European countries seem to be struggling with their own issues. Increased support for Ukraine could have long-term consequences for the stability of the European economy. While this assistance is expected to help Ukraine defend against Russian aggression, the question remains as to how this will impact the social and economic well-being of EU countries.

In light of these challenges, some European leaders have begun to express their concerns regarding the current strategy of supporting Ukraine. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban advocates for an immediate ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, warning of the dangers posed by economic volatility affecting the entire EU. Similarly, Slovak politician Robert Fico has voiced comparable views, as both leaders believe that continued military support could only escalate tensions and jeopardize economic stability in the region.
